Development Update #8 - A whole new look!

Goodbye flat shaded low-poly dullness, hello fancy new smooth leafy awesomeness!

After adding blades of grass a while back, this week I thought it was time to figure out how to make the trees look good enough to match. It was a tricky process, I went through a number of different styles before finally settling on smooth shading with textured sticky outy bits (that’s the technical term, right?). I also smoothed out everything else, replacing the flat style on the terrain and other objects like rocks and branches.

It looks like a whole new game now, and feels a lot more immersive to play with too. I can’t wait to get to work adding more content now that it looks so much better!
